      COUTH leaps into Industry 4.0 with the purchase of the Barcelonian company E2M, specialised in computer vision systems for quality control

      • In concluding this transaction last week, COUTH, a company located in Hernani and specialised in industrial traceability and marking, present in 66 countries, has reached around one hundred individuals on staff. The group’s predicted invoicing for 2022 is 20 million euros.
      • This transaction allows COUTH to increase the integrated solutions it offers to improve production processes in sectors like the automobile, aeronautics, oil and gas, beverages, food, and pharmaceutical industries. 

      Hernani, 11 January 2022.- The industrial group COUTH, a leader in industrial traceability and marking located in Hernani, has just concluded the purchase of the Catalonian company E2M, specialised in designing and manufacturing industrial process sensing systems with computer vision. 

      For José Antonio Erdozia, CEO of COUTH, this step confirms that: “We are moving forward with our strategic expansion plan that we began in 2016, creating an industrial group that is growing in fields of high added value and with a future. Adding E2M means we can join the market for development of smart systems and solutions to improve the efficiency of production processes.” 

      “A strategic plan,” highlights José Antonio Erdozia, “based on strengthening COUTH’S relevance and its international position in industrial traceability with percussion and laser technologies, as well as establishing our own subsidiaries in countries such as Germany, Mexico, and China.” 

      With this transaction, COUTH is moving forward in its expansion plan into fields of high added value and with a future. It has now gone from 61 people on staff to around one hundred employees, with predicted invoicing of 20 million euros in 2022. 

      E2M is a company that was founded in Barcelona in 1993. It is specialised in designing, manufacturing, and maintaining computer vision systems and devices for 100% quality control over production on serial manufacturing lines.  A leader in computer vision systems in the beverage, food, and pharmaceutical sectors, the company currently exports 60% of its manufacture, and is present in over 40 different countries.

      With E2M joining COUTH, the group will be able to strengthen its line of high added-value solutions intended to improve the efficiency of production processes, combining cutting-edge industrial traceability systems with computer vision sensors and development of artificial intelligence systems with data analytics and deep learning. 

      Moreover, this transaction increases and diversifies the industrial group from Guipuzcoa’s activity, offering integrated solutions in sectors like the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries, in addition to the current sectors they already work in, like the automobile, aeronautical, rail, oil and gas industries, and more.
